Abby McCann

Clinical Psychologist

Abby has 10 years experience working as a psychologist. She’s studied in South Australia and Queensland and has worked in hospital and community mental health teams and private practice settings.

Abby values providing a warm and empathetic approach to a range of presenting psychological difficulties. She has experience assisting people with a broad range of emotional and interpersonal difficulties, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, substance issues and transition and adjustment to other difficult personal experiences.

Abby enjoys assisting adults to pursue their goals for valued living and increasing their understanding of themselves. With a commitment to ongoing professional development in evidence based therapy approaches, her individualised treatment plans are client centred and tailored to client goals. Abby utilises mindfulness, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy and other trauma informed and cognitive behavioural therapy approaches in treatment.

Abby has completed a Bachelor of Psychology at UniSA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology and a Master of Psychology (Clinical) at Bond University on the Gold Coast.
